About

Hi, I'm Carson.

I'm a web designer and Colorado State University student. I grew up in Conifer, in the Colorado foothills, and have called this state home since I was two. I started Whitcomb Design to give Fort Collins small businesses the kind of website the big brands have: fast, modern, and built to actually bring in customers.

Why Whitcomb

Why I started this

Too many local businesses get talked into a website that looks fine in a sales demo, then quietly fails them: slow to load, invisible on Google, impossible to update, and built by someone they can never get back on the phone. Meanwhile the owner is great at what they actually do; they just needed someone to handle the web side honestly.

That's the gap I built Whitcomb Design to fill. I keep things simple: I explain everything in plain English, I show you real work before you commit, and I build sites that are genuinely fast and findable, not just pretty in a screenshot. I'm local, I answer my own phone, and I'd rather earn a long-term client than win a quick sale.

What I believe

How I work

  • Honesty first. Clear pricing, realistic timelines, and no jargon. If something won't help your business, I'll tell you.
  • Speed is non-negotiable. Every site is built to load fast, because slow sites lose customers and rankings. (My own site is the proof: check how fast this loaded.)
  • Local matters. I'm locally in Fort Collins, serving all of Colorado, not an overseas agency. You get a real person who knows the area and the market.
  • Efficient by design. I design every site personally and run a lean, focused process. It's how a one-person studio delivers agency-quality sites at small-business prices, in weeks not months. The strategy, the design decisions, and the accountability are all me.
  • You own everything. Your domain, your site, your content: all yours. No lock-in, ever.

A bit more

Beyond the work

When I'm not designing, I'm studying business at CSU, lifting, and tinkering with new tech. That mix (business sense, design, and a genuinely nerdy interest in how the web works under the hood) is exactly what goes into every Whitcomb site. You're not just getting a designer; you're getting someone who thinks about your site as a tool to grow your business.
